Friday August 31, 2018 - The Zoo - whoohoo!

The house was slow to wake up today and it was so nice to sleep in a bit, finally some "fresh" weather - about 13 degrees and a brisk wind.  Kathy and I were up and we had a quiet breakfast and chatted.  Then everyone was up and Kathy said her farewells to everyone large and small.  I did not expect to see Kathy so this great to get a day together to bird and catch up on news.  When I met Kathy she had only one grandchild and another two coming and I had none.  Now, I have five with 2 month old Cal arriving in June and Kathy has 6 with a grandchild arriving in April, I think,  and three weeks ago a boy.  Then we talked about birding trips and maybe in the future, a birding trip together.

After saying our farewells, Kathy headed home while I got packed up with the family to go to the nearby zoo.  It really was not a beach day today and I think a lot of people had the same idea as the zoo was crowded.  It is a small zoo that one can tour through easily in 2 hours.  It was perfect.  Avery saw the zebras (she said these were her favourite) and Bengal Tigers and monkeys, and lions and all kinds of petting zoo animals.  She fed the baby deer and was thrilled.

We all enjoyed the zoo today.  We headed home for the little ones' nap and everyone went on a little siesta time.  The other night Jason mostly and Norm at the end, did a 500 piece puzzle in a couple of hours, so I went out and bought a 750 piece puzzle for the guys to do some evening.  They like the challenge of it all.

Everyone big and small was in good humour.  Tonight was date night for the kids.  So Norm and I had supper here and stayed in with the little ones who were great sleepers once 8 o'clock came.  T

As I have said having a house and laundry facilities has been great.  We do a load of laundry every second day pretty well.    But today at day end we did not have hot water and one of toilets needed a bucket of water to be added every time the toilet was used.

The kids came home and they said they enjoyed their evening out along the main strip of Ogunquit.

Another excellent day of our Ogunquit vacation!
